The Gala Theatre is highlighting this DC premiere performance of Real Women Have Curves to raise awareness for the issues of size acceptance. NAAFA had specially priced tickets which included a reception following the performance.

About the play: A young Latina girl goes to work in her sister’s unregistered sewing factory, where her mother and three other hard-working women manufacture department store dresses in sizes far smaller than their own. Over three days they bicker and bond over issues of sex, family and self-respect, while always on the lookout for La Migra (immigration officials). Performance in English with Spanish surtitles

About the Gala theatre: handicapped accessible. There is an elevator and armless seats will be provided.
